OPCS Policy for helping keep our community safe from COVID 6.1.22

Masks
Masks are now optional during class and open studio times.

Vaccinations
OPCS requires all students and teachers to be vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.

Prevention
It is important to protect the school community from illness, and that means staying home when you have any signs or symptoms of illness. A wide range of symptoms is associated with many illnesses, including COVID-19.

1. If a student or teacher is sick or tests positive for Covid, they should stay home until:

        a. At least 24 hours have passed since the resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications (e.g. Ibuprofen, acetaminophen, etc); and
       b. You are symptom-free; and
       c. You have a negative antigen test or molecular test (PCR, LAMP, NAAT) for SARS-CoV-2, OR
               i. at least 10 days have passed since symptom onset. After 10 days, an infected person who is no longer symptomatic is likely no longer contagious, so they can come back to the studio.  OR
i i. a healthcare provider has provided documentation that the symptoms are typical of their underlying chronic condition (e.g. allergies or asthma), OR
i i i. a healthcare provider has confirmed an alternative named diagnosis (e.g. Streptococcal pharyngitis, Coxsackie virus).

2. If a student or teacher is exposed to someone who has Covid, a negative diagnostic test must be obtained at least 3-5 days after LAST exposure to a case. Then please test again 2 days later to be sure it was not a false negative.
